Commentary On Revelation – Chapters 15-16

WHO BRINGS THE 7 LAST PLAGUES?
GOD’S WRATH DEFINED AND EXPLAINED

John, the beloved apostle and Seer of Patmos, was taken in prophetic vision, down the corridors of time, to our present day. He was shown seven bowls or vials which will be given to seven “messengers” who are commanded to pour out these vials on the “earth,” meaning the inhabited earth, i.e., the people. “For in them is filled up the wrath of God.” Rev. 15 and 16. These are called the “Seven Last Plagues,” implying that by this time, there will have been some first plagues which will be less severe then these terrible Seven Last Plagues which will fall during the last 3 1/2 years. We are fast approaching the first 3 1/2 year period of the “Little Time of Trouble.” We need to understand more about this time period and when it will begin. See Rev 9:18 re: the First Plagues.

In the book of Daniel there is a period of 3 1/2 years, referred to as “a time, times and a half.” Dan 12:7. This is the same time period that John predicted in the book of Revelation only it is referred to as 1260 days in Rev 11 and 12 and then 42 months in Rev 13:5. Most people do not realize that the 1260 days of Rev 11 is referring to the Little Time of Trouble and the 1260 days of Rev 12 is referring to the Big Time of Trouble. So, what we actually have is a seven year span of time divided into two parts, each lasting 3 1/2 years. The 42 months is referring to the second 3 1/2 years or the Big Time of Trouble. We will go into more detail about this seven year period later on in this article.

First, let us look at these Seven Last Plages in Rev 15 and 16 more closely and especially at the phrase, “The wrath of God,” because this expression is used over and over again throughout the Scriptures. Yet, you will seldom find an explanation of what the Wrath of God really is or how and why it has been poured out on people so many times throughout the Great Controversy. When I first began my study and research on the character of God I came face to face with this enigmatic phrase. Enigmatic means something that is “perplexing, baffling and obscure.” And that truly is what we are dealing with here. What helped me to understand the true definition of “The Wrath of God,” was Psalm 78:49. Notice: “He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.” KJV. The RSV reads, “a company of destroying angels.” This is very insightful because now we know that the “evil” angels are also the “destroying” angels, because God’s angels are never sent to destroy God’s creatures or creation. Psalm 103:20 tells us that God’s angels “do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.” Here is another quote which categorically proves God’s angels do not destroy: “Angels are sent from the heavenly courts, NOT TO DESTROY, but to watch over and guard imperiled souls, to save the lost, to bring the straying ones back to the fold.” Review & Herald, May 10, 1906. Throughout the history of the nation of Israel we read about God’s wrath and anger being poured out or released upon them. “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He delivered them into the hand of Hazael, king of Syria.” 2 Kings 13:3. Remember that the word “anger” is the same as “wrath,” as we already read from Psalm 78:49. And Paul goes into much more detail in Rom 1:18-28 showing that God “gave them up” and “gave them over,” to their own carnal, lustful thoughts and ways, which led them on to their destruction. This is also what Psalm 5:10 says: “Destroy thou them O God, let them fall by their own counsels.” And yet God always takes the blame as we see in the suicide death of King Saul recorded in I Chron 10:4, 5, 13, 14. “So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the Lord, because of the word of the Lord which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it, and did not inquire of the Lord. Therefore He (the Lord) killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.”

I deal with this subject in much more depth in my updated version of “INTO THE FATHER’S HEART,” which is entitled, “THE TRUE MEANING OF GOD’S WRATH,” page 82. In the first chapter of the book, “THE GREAT CONTROVERSY,” the history of the destruction of Jerusalem, in AD 70 is recounted when more than a million people died during the 3 1/2 year siege and general slaughter which followed after the soldiers finally breached the walls. “The survivors were carried away as captives, sold as slaves, dragged to Rome to grace the conqueror’s triumph, thrown to wild beasts in the amphitheaters, or scattered as homeless wanderers throughout the earth.” GC 35. Was this God’s work? No. Was it His fault? Absolutely not. Yet the prophets always portrayed God, in their writings, as the One who was bringing these calamities upon them. “The Jews had forged their own fetters; they had filled for themselves the cup of vengeance…they were but reaping the harvest which their own hands had sown. Says the prophet: ‘O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself:” “for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Hosea 13:9; 14:1. Their sufferings are often represented as a punishment visited upon them by the direct decree of God. It is thus that the great deceiver seeks to conceal his own work.” GC 35. And on page 36 we read: “God does not stand toward the sinner as an executioner of the sentence against transgression; but He leaves the rejecters of His mercy to themselves, to reap that which they have sown.” This agrees with what the same author wrote in “Christ’s Object Lessons,” 84, “GOD DESTROYS NO MAN.”

I received an e-mail today to call a man who has been studying on “End Time Events,” especially about “The Wrath of God.” He said he had some questions about this topic and was going to call me. By 5:00 pm today he still had not called so I called him. He said that he had been tied up all afternoon with company but they had just left so now he could talk.

“Mike,” he began, “last night I had a Bible study with some people and they brought up the subject of the Seven Last Plagues being an example of the ‘Wrath of God.’ I was not able to prove to them from the Bible itself that God does not bring the Seven Last Plagues. So, I need some help on this topic.”

The first text the Lord brought to my mind was Rev. 16:1. “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.” With this phrase, “wrath of God,” John the Revelator gives us a very important clue and key to unlock the mysteries of the plagues. And what might that be? Just what we learned about God’s wrath, that it is not when the Lord sends down curses and calamities but when He withdraws His protection.

The next verse describes the first plague as being “a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshiped his image.” Rev. 16:2. In Rom 1:18 and on Paul explains that the “The wrath of God,” is simply when God is forced to “give up” on the sinner who will not repent. He does this by removing His hand of restraint and protection from the sinner. Paul explains this in great detail. “The wrath of God is (has already been) revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (suppress) the truth in unrighteousness.” The LB says “Evil men who push away the truth from them.” Now, when people do this what is God’s response? Does He strike the sinners down with angry bolts of lightning and thunder from the skies? No, He does not, because that is not His character. Neither does He cause them to have a car wreck or infect them with some disease like cancer on their skin? That is not His character. This is the work of the enemy who always makes it look like God is doing it. That is why God’s character has been so misunderstood and maligned for so long. Today, beloved, It is our honor, privilege and duty, as servants of the Most High, to clear His Name and vindicate His character. Let us now go to the first of the seven last plagues.

The first plague is some kind of a skin disease, a sore. All sickness and disease comes from the enemy, so we immediately know that this first plague is from the devil, not God. However, because God is Sovereign, He permits and “controls” all things including these seven last plagues. We know this because vs 9 says God has “power” over the plagues which means that He is controlling and regulating them even though He is not the author of them, that is He is not responsible for bringing or creating them in the first place. Nevertheless, He is sovereign over all the earth, in that He directs and determines, permits and prevents all of the events that take place. Nothing happens without His permission.

“Above the distractions of earth He sits enthroned. All things are open to His Divine survey and from His great and calm eternity He orders that which His Providence sees best.” MH 174. Furthermore, when the “sore boils” broke out on the body of the patriarch Job we know that it was Satan who caused those boils as the Scripture record reveals: “So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.” Job 2:7.

EGW also tells us that Satan is the “destroyer” “Great Controversy,” page 589, “Patriarchs & Prophets,” page 279. He is also the author of all disease. Notice: “Satan, the author of disease and misery, will approach God’s people where he can have the greatest success.” CD 375, 119, 120. Luke 13:16 and Acts 10:38 also clearly show that Jesus never hurt anyone while on earth but only healed them, and that it was Satan who made them sick in the first place. “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38.

The second and third plagues affect the oceans and rivers. The reason I believe the second and third plagues are literal as well as spiritual is because the first one is a sore on the bodies of those who have received the Mark of the Beast. This Mark is also both literal and spiritual because the Greek word for “Mark” is charagma, Strong’s 5480, meaning an engraving, etching, scratch, stamp or graven mark. The Bible says that the sea becomes like the “blood of a dead man.” Rev. 16:3. Some also believe that it may include a microchip injected under the skin or in the body along with vaccinations. But we must remember that Revelation is filled with symbols. For example, the word “sea” is a symbol or representation of human beings. “The waters which you saw…are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues (languages).” Rev 17:15.

Now, let us consider the sea becoming like the blood of a dead man in a symbolic sense. When a person dies the blood stops moving and becomes toxic, the body begins to decay and rot. The smell is terrible. The blood of a dead person has no oxygen or life in it. That is what is going to happen to all the oceans of the earth which will cause “every living thing in the sea to die.” Rev 16:3. NAS. Cf Zech 13:8 which predicts 2/3rds of humanity will die and 1/3 will live. So, not only will all marine life in the oceans die all humanity who receives the Mark of the Beast will also die.

What will cause this? First of all, man is polluting the oceans with garbage and trash. Secondly, there are deadly oil spills. There is also some kind of sonar technology that is being used in the oceans which have evidently caused whales, for example, to become confused and beach themselves. The Haarp project in at least 36 locations throughout the earth, including Alaska, is already being blamed for changing weather patterns over large areas of the earth as well as interfering with wildlife migration patterns. The book, “ANGELS DON’T PLAY THIS HAARP,” by Nick Begich & Jeane Manning, 215 pages, explains this in much detail. Only $9.95. This trend will no doubt continue and increase causing more and more death throughout the earth on both land and sea.

The seven last plagues are a parallel to the plagues which fell upon Egypt of old. We know from Exodus 11:1 that they were plagues. “And the Lord said unto Moses, yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt;”

Now, let’s go to Psalm 78:43 to 49 which is an explanation and commentary on these Egyptian plagues. “How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan: and had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods that they could not drink..He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with frost (hail). He gave up (Rom 1:18-28) their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. (lightnings).” Now, here is the key verse which will explain who brought these plagues. And please notice they are not manifest until the true Lord removes His protective hand. Yet, true to His divine character, He again claims to be doing that which He permits. “He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.” Psalm 78:49. The RSV reads: “He let loose on them His fierce anger, wrath, indignation, and distress, a company of destroying angels.” Here we see that the words “anger, wrath, indignation and trouble or distress” are synonymous terms. Therefore, whenever you see these words being used in the Scriptures you know that it means God is removing His hand of protection. This is how Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. “For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.” Lamentations 4:6. And this is also how the flood came. Notice: “For the Lord has called you as woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when you were refused, says your God. For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies will I gather you. In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on you, says the Lord your Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me:” Isaiah 54:6-9.

Here is another one: “Will you keep to the old way which wicked men have trod? They were snatched away before their time; their foundation was washed away. They said to God, ‘Depart from us,’ and ‘What can the Almighty do to us?’ Yet He filled their houses with good things–” Job 22:15-18.

People think that God and His son are the ones who will bring the final “Wrath” upon the world in the last days. But listen to this: “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Rom. 5:8. KJV. So, Jesus and His Father are not the Ones who are bringing the wrath upon the world, but they are, in fact, the Ones who are saving us from the wrath to come. Notice how the RSV changed the meaning of this text: “Since, therefore, we are now justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him (Jesus) from the wrath of God.” Do you see how the meaning was changed? Here in the RSV “God” (meaning the Father) is not able to pour out His wrath upon us because Jesus is protecting us from His wrath. The Modern Language says the same thing and the Living Bible says: “Now He will save us from all of God’s wrath to come.” Even the NAS says, “we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” Rom 5:9. Notice that the phrase “of God” is in italics indicating that it is not in the original but added or put there by the translators who were not inspired. So, we see that the entire religious world has a false understanding and concept of our Blessed Redeemer and His Father. In I Thess. 1:10 Paul tells us that through Jesus we have been delivered from the “Wrath to come.” Then he further explains how the Jews were bringing upon themselves the “Wrath of God.”

Notice: “For you also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.” I Thess. 2:15, 16. The Romans did not siege Jerusalem until October of 66 AD. Paul’s last letter was written to Timothy in AD 66, probably early in the year, because Paul asked Timothy to “come before winter,” 2 Tim 4:21, which would indicate that he probably was beheaded in the spring or summer, thus sparing him from the terrible news that Jerusalem was under siege.

Now, let’s go to the fourth plague. “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which has power over these plagues; and they gnawed their tongues for pain.” Rev. 16:8, 9. The fifth plague seems to be a spiritual darkness which causes intense mental suffering, confusion and fear.

The sixth plague is the drying up of the river Euphrates; “And the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” The word “river” which is water represents human beings. Again this seems to be another symbolic way of expressing the fall of Babylon which prepares the way for the first phase of the coming of Christ to reap the Barley harvest. It is very interesting that the SDA commentary on Rev 16 states that the “Kings of the East,” represent “Christ and those accompanying Him: And Armageddon, the last battle of the great controversy between Christ and Satan, fought out on the battlefield of this earth. Thus, the withdrawal of human support from mystical Babylon is seen as the removal of the last barrier to her ultimate defeat and punishment. This goes along with Dan 11:44, 45. “But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.”

In vain I have sought for some insights to the above verses in commentaries and the SOP. Even EGW did not have any comments on Rev 11 that I could find, unless they are in her unpublished writings. Through prayer and common sense I found the key to understanding who the relative pronoun “him” is in Dan 11:40. If you go back to vs 36 this “him” is “the king” who is going to “exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, (i.e. true God of heaven) and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished (i.e. death decree is completed at the end of the second 3 1/2 years, thus completing the last 7 years). Now, let me prove to you that this “king” is none other than Satan who works through the pride of a nation which has rejected the Holy Spirit. First of all, remember that in Ezek 28:2-15, the Lord is speaking to the fallen angel, Lucifer (now Satan) under the title or name of “prince of Tyrus.” The reason the Lord could do this is because the Prince of Tyre was possessed by the same evil spirit of pride and arrogance as Satan. And so it is with this fallen angel, Lucifer, here in this final age of the Great Controversy. “The king (Satan, lord of this world) will do exactly as he pleases, claiming to be greater than every god there is, even blaspheming the God of gods (true God of heaven), and prospering–until his time is up. For God’s plans are unshakable.” Look at Dan 11:36-43 and compare that with the vision of Dan 8:1-12. My point is that when the He goat’s horn waxes great and then at the height of his power and glory is broken into four parts, this is a prophecy of what is going to happen to the USA. Why? Because EGW tells us in Great Controversy that “national apostasy will lead to national ruin.” Here is that quote: “The Law of God Made Void.–“A time is coming when the law of God is, in a special sense, to be made void in our land. The rulers of our nation will, by legislative enactments, enforce the Sunday law, and thus God’s people be brought into great peril. When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land; and national apostasy will be followed by national ruin (RH Dec. 18, 1888). Bible Commentary (BC 7 – 977). See also 5T 541 (2TT 151) signal for national ruin 2 SM 373, Evangelism, 235.

Now, let us understand the timing of these events because we are coming closer to it each and every day, so we need to be watchful, as Jesus said in Luke 21:34-36, watch and pray. Sunday Legislation is not being done out in the open, so people do not know about it anymore than they know about the chemical poisons that have been put into the foods and water as well as the air (chem trails).

THE PROSPECT BEFORE US: “Prophecy represents Protestantism as having lamblike horns, but speaking like a dragon. Already we are beginning to hear the voice of the dragon. There is a satanic force propelling the Sunday movement, but it is concealed. Even the men who are engaged in the work, are themselves blinded to the results which will follow their movement. Let not the commandment-keeping people of God be silent at this time, as though we gracefully accepted the situation. There is the prospect before us of waging a continuous war, at the risk of imprisonment, of losing property and even life itself, to defend the law of God, which is being made void by the laws of men RH Jan. 1, 1889).”

And so we know what the final issue will be because it has been held up before us day and night for the last 100 years both in the political arena as well as the religious, especially among SDAs. There was a sort of “dry run Sunday Law push” back in the 1890s which failed. A. T. Jones spoke out against it and the Blair Sunday law effort failed…died out. But this was a warning shot across the bow, so to speak, of what the enemy intends to do in this nation and world. Jesus predicted this time: “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:).” The next two verses speak about fleeing into the mountains, etc…and the great tribulation. See Matt 24:16-28. Now let us go back to Dan 11:43-45. “He (Satan, claiming to be Christ) will capture all the treasures of Egypt, and the Libyans and Ethiopians shall be his servants. But then news from the east and north will alarm him and he will return in great anger to destroy as he goes. He will halt (stop) between Jerusalem and the sea, and there pitch his royal tents, but while he is there his time will suddenly run out and there will be no one to help him.” This is the LB, Living Bible so we read it with some reserve as it is not an exact rendering of the original Hebrew. Now, let us read vs 44 & 45 again: “But reports (news/tidings) from the East and from the North shall alarm (trouble) him, so that he shall withdraw (go forth from his battle plans) in great fury to destroy and annihilate many. He shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious Holy Mountain–and come to his end with none to help him.”

Daniel is a book filled with symbols like Revelation. The word “sea” is symbolic of people, Rev 17:15. A mountain is a nation. So, the sea represents all the people of the earth on one side and the “glorious Holy Mountain” on the other side with Satan pitching his “royal tents” in the middle for the purpose of deception. He is claiming to be Jesus Christ and that the Glorious Holy Mountain (God’s true people) are causing all the problems in the earth and must be destroyed. So, that is why a World Wide Sunday Law death decree is passed against them.

Zechariah 13:7-9 predicts that 2/3rds of the people will die but that 1/3 will go through the fire and live to see Christ come. That will be the third and final phase of the harvest, the grapes. Rev 14:18-20. Now, let’s interpret Rev 16:13-16. The three frogs represent Catholicism, apostate Protestantism and Spiritualism. Frogs live in swamps or stagnant water which represent people who are dead in sins and trespasses. And who are the powers behind them? “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. This clearly reveals that Satan and his angels are responsible for the Seven Last Plagues. When Christ leaves the sanctuary darkness will cover the earth. “In that fearful time the righteous must live in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. The restraint which has been upon the wicked is removed, and Satan has entire control of the finally impenitent….unsheltered by divine grace, they have no protection from the wicked one. Satan will then plunge the inhabitants of the earth into one great, final trouble.” “Great Controversy,” pg 614. And this is when the Big Time of Trouble begins.

Now, let’s look at this phrase or title: “GOD ALMIGHTY,” or “ALMIGHTY GOD,” (Gen 17:3) which in Hebrew is El Shaddai, which means: “The Almighty Breasted One,” and is in the feminine. This has been covered up from the very beginning but now is being revealed. In Strong’s Concordance 7736 the Hebrew word Shad means “breast.” In Strong’s 7703 and 7705 it refers to a wife or mistress of the house. “Almighty” occurs 47 times in the OT and 9 times in the NT. The feminine aspect of God is one of the most neglected, ignored, suppressed and hated topics of the Bible. Now what “spirit” would be trying to cover up the truth about this topic? And even more importantly, why would they be trying to cover it up? Here is a mystery that needs to be solved. And yet it has been there in Genesis 1 from the very beginning.

“And God (Elohim) said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them.” Any time the Scripture repeats a thought or idea this is an indication that it is extremely important and he wants us to not only clearly understand it but to remember it. Matt 9 and 12 both talk about the animal sacrifice system based on Hosea 6:6, “I would have mercy and not sacrifice. We also see this in many of the Psalms which are called “couplets.” “For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks.” Ps 6:5. “My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.” Job 14:17. “His sons come to honor, and he knows it not; and they are brought low, but he perceives it not of them.”Job 14:21.

All of history since the fall and the written record of the Bible itself is about the image of God in man, what it was like before Adam and Eve sinned, what it has been like since and how that image can be restored through Jesus Christ. In the life of Jesus we see the Father’s image perfectly displayed and revealed. All of Satan’s false accusations about the Father and His government were exposed as lies and fabrications by Jesus perfect life of submission and obedience to His Father’s will. Paul tells us that the Father has spoken to us through His only begotten Son, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Heb 1:2, 3. According to John 5:37 and Psalm 50:21. Psalm 50 is obviously an eschatological Psalm for the end of this age. Here is where He finally breaks His long silence as we read in verse 3. “Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence.” In Matt 24:36 Jesus stated that He does not know the day or the hour of His own coming. And in Acts 1:7 Jesus again stated, after the resurrection, “It is not for you to know the times or the season, which the Father has put in His own power.” In Early Writings, pages 15, 34 and 285 the Servant of the Lord reveals that the “voice of God” spoke the exact time of Jesus’ coming. “And as God (Father) spoke the day and the hour of Jesus’ coming and delivered the everlasting covenant to His people, He spoke one sentence, and then paused, while the words were rolling through the earth.” EW 285. It is clear from Christ’s own words in Matt 24:36 and the three statements from Early Writings that it is the Father Himself who will announce the very hour and the day of His only Son’s coming.

The Greek word “Image” is transliterated into English as “Character” from the Greek Xaraxtnr. In Greek the X=Ch and n=e, thus: Character. The word Character in English is defined as: “A distinctive mark, style of printing or writing, a quality or attribute.” And the 7th definition is: “An individual’s pattern of behavior or personality; moral constitution.” There are four words or terms which refer to God’s character. 1. Image. 2. Likeness. 3. Name. 4. Glory. In Exodus 33:18 Moses pled for God to reveal Himself to Him. “And He said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory.” The word glory in English means: “The condition of highest achievement, splendor, magnificence, radiance.”

The SDA Bible Dictionary states that in Biblical literature Glory is defined as “honor, praise, esteem and those qualities that bring honor or excite admiration. “Like its English counterpart, kabod occasionally designates those attributes or characteristics that produce esteem or admiration. For example, when Moses asked to see the glory of God (Ex 33:18), the response of the Lord indicated that He regarded the virtues and graces of His character as His special ‘glory.” Pg 404. In response to Moses’ request the Lord said: “I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” Ex 33:19. “And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.” Ex 34:6, 7.

“But a man should not wear anything on his head [when worshiping, for his hat is a sign of subjection to me]. God’s glory is man made in his image, and man’s glory is the woman.” LB I Cor 11:7. Now, beloved, if mankind is made in the very image and likeness of His Creator, Elohim, then does it not stand to reason that just as Adam had a companion that Elohim would also have a companion? The answer is “yes,” because man was made in the very image and likeness of God. Gen 1:27, 28. The word Elohim is not only plural but also masculine and feminine in the very make-up of the grammatical construction of the word itself. And so just as Adam is a male made after the masculine part of Elohim so Eve is in the very image and likeness of her mother, the feminine part of Elohim. That is why El Shaddai, the Almighty God of Gen 17:1 is a feminine being. Paul refers to Jerusalem as a Mother. “But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” Gal 4:26. The prophet Isaiah knew about this feminine aspect of Elohim. When Israel complained that God had forsaken her El Shaddai replied: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isaiah 49:14, 15. Mt 23:37 Luke 13:34. In fact, beloved, the Lord has promised to put His very glory on His chosen people in this last hour of earth’s history. Notice: “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory (character) of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the rightness of your rising.” Isaiah 6:1-3. This will happen after the Elect are translated and taken to heaven to receive their gifts at the Father’s throne of grace. Dan 7:13, 14. Then they will return to earth to begin the Wheat Harvest. Notice: “And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession. My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. Then shall you return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him.” Malachi 3:17-18; Cf. Rev 14:14-16. Amplified.

In the “Gospel of Thomas & Christian Wisdom,” by Stevan L. Davies, there are 114 texts or statements attributed to Thomas. Here is #101 which deals with Christ’s true Mother.

“He who does not hate his (father) and his mother in my way will not be able to be my (disciple) and he who does (not) love his father and his mother in my way, will not be able to be my (disciple), for my mother (according to the flesh gave me death but (my) true (mother) gave me life.”

In Song of Solomon the Spirit wrote: “Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my s pouse;…How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse.” S. of Solomon 4:9, 10. My dove, my undefiled is but one: she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her.” S. S. 6:9. vs 6 mentions twins. “The dove was a rabbinical symbol for Israel as a nation, but Christians have come to consider it a symbol of the Holy Spirit doubtless because the Spirit descended like a dove at Jesus’ baptism (Matt 3:16). The dove was used in the tabernacle … and temple (as) sacrifices.” SDA Bible Dictionary under “Dove.”

Now let’s read Dan 10:21. Gabrielle is speaking to Daniel. “But I will show you that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holds with me in these things, but Michael your prince.” In the original Hebrew the phrase “hold” means to clasp hands in agreement on a matter. It means to join together in agreement to carry out a mission. And what was that mission? To vindicate the character of the Father and also to redeem the human race. But we just read that it was not until Jesus came and allowed Satan and evil men to bloody Him up that the angelic realm and unfallen worlds finally were enlightened as to the true motives and character of Lucifer. That to me is truly mind blowing. In Dan 10:20, 21 we read: “He said, ‘Do you know why I have come to you? I am first going back to fight with the prince of Persia, and as soon as I have left, the prince of Greece will appear: I have no ally on my side to help and support me, except Michael your prince. However, I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. Here and now I will tell you what is true:” NEB. Compare Proverbs 8:22-31 where Gabrielle, under the appellation or title of Wisdom reveals that she was “at His (Michael’s or Christ’s) side each day.” vs 30, NEB. Let me share with you a quote which started me on my research on this topic of the feminine image of God, the SHEKINAH Glory. “The angel of mercy was then folding her wings to step down from the golden throne to give place to justice and swift-coming judgment.” DA 578. Only kings and queens have thrones.

Now let us look at the importance of the word “ally” in Dan 10:21. Gabrielle is telling Daniel that no one in the entire universe understood what was going on enough to ally or support the cause of the Father and the human race but Michael. Who is Michael? He is Jesus Christ. And Gabrielle and Michael are twins, brother and sister and spouses, the co-creators of planet earth. I have given an abundance of evidence for this assertion in past issues of this paper so will not repeat myself here at this time except to say that the counterfeits, such as Osiris and Isis and Tammuz and Ishtar and Apollo and Diana should be enough to prove who they are because each of them were twins, brother and sister and husband and wife. Daniel described Gabrielle as having a “a body …like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in color to polished brass, and the voice of his (her) words like the voice of a multitude.” Here is Webster’s definition of Beryl, which by the way is a female name: “A colorless, yellowish, bluish, or less brilliant green variety of emerald, the prevailing hue being green.” Emerald (green) is also a feminine color and is not only one of the primary colors of the color spectrum but in the rainbow is the outstanding hue of the rainbow itself, as we read in Rev 4:3. “And there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” Esmeralda and Emily are female names based on this color. Rainbows are part of nature and in the Hebrew language colors and nature are always in the feminine gender. Even in English we refer to our planet as Mother Earth and Mother nature. In Rev 1:14, 15 John’s description of Jesus Christ (Michael) is almost identical to that of Gabrielle. Notice: “His eyes were as a flame of fire; And His feet like unto fine brass, as they were burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.” Notice that the eyes, feet and voice are identical, like twins. Conclusion. Michael and Gabriel are twins. Compare Proverbs 8 and Song of Solomon 4:8 and 5:1 and 8:1-7. And so Michael and Gabrielle were the only ones who understood who the Father really is and what He is like. And now in the last segment of this age we are also being taken “Into the Father’s Heart,” so we will know the Father just like Jesus knows Him. This is absolutely necessary and critical in order for us to fulfill our destiny as the Elect during the last seven years of this earth’s history. Question: Why doesn’t the KJV or any of the versions reveal that Gabrielle was a female being or deity equal to Michael? 1. Because it was not time. 2. It is one of the final mysteries to be revealed. 3. The translators of the Bible were all male and controlled the male dominated patriarchal society in their eras of history. So, it was not in their best interest to translate the feminine gender when it appeared in the text. But now the time has come for us to know the truth and it will no longer be hidden or repressed. “Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: (for the pure milk of the word). Let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.” Joel 2:16. Yes, the only daughter of the Most High is about to come out of her chamber or closet she has been in for over 6,000 years now. The Father is about to reveal Her to the world for her very special work which will “finish the mystery of God” under the sounding of the 7th trumpet. Rev 10:7.

Furthermore, history confirms a definite and intentional lack of powerful and challenging female stories recorded throughout history, even in the Bible, which was translated and compiled solely by men who were influenced and guided by the social restraints of their peers at the time. Our male dominated world culture have failed through the centuries to recognize that vital and important spiritual contribution women have made in society. The essence of Wisdom (Prov. and elsewhere) is female. It’s the very reason they were created – as a helper for man. Therefore, if the traditional Judaeo/Christian society and culture is challenged in our thinking to a greater awareness of spirituality – isn’t that a good thing? Yes, of course it is.

But the most deceptive device of all today is the Catholic Church’s claim that prayers to Mary will bring help, hope and salvation. On page 409 of the book, “Dignity and Duties of the Priest or Selva,” by St Alphonsus De Liguori we read. “With regard to the necessity of invoking her (Mary’s) intercession, it is necessary to know that although the Council, of Trent (about 1545) has only declared that the invocation of the saints is useful, …(and) that the order of divine law requires that we mortals be saved through the saints by obtaining, through their prayers, the graces necessary for salvation….if it is a duty to ask the prayers of the saints, how much more strictly are we bound to invoke the intercession of Mary, whose prayers are more efficacious with God than the prayers of all other saints (because) the Blessed Virgin has merited grace sufficient to save all.” Page 410. Beloved, this is pure blasphemy on two counts. 1. Only Jesus is our Savior and 2. Only Christ is our Intercessor. Therefore, to substitute Mary (who is dead in the grave and not in heaven anyway) for Jesus is blasphemy.

The final deceptive test will revolve around who is the true Messiah or Christ? Remember Jesus warned His disciples in Matt 24 that the leading sign of the end would be “deception.” “Let no man deceive you.” In the game of chess the most powerful piece on the board is the queen. When a player loses his queen the game is basically over. In this end game today the false Queen of Heaven, supposedly the mother of Jesus, is going to announce from the skies her son’s return as the Messiah. But what if this is nothing but a big deception? What if Mary is not even alive, let alone in heaven? Then who has invented this false concept and idea that Mary is our only intercessor? It is, of course, Satan, the great liar and deceiver from the beginning. But how can we prove this? Simple. The Bible clearly tells us that the “Dead know not anything.” Eccles. 9:5, 6 and Psalm 6:5; 146:4; Job 14:14; 21. Even on the day of Pentecost Peter revealed the truth about the dead. He told them “For David is not ascended into the heavens:” Acts 2:34. In ancient Israel the Lord through Moses forbade communication with the dead. “They joined themselves also unto Baal peor , and ate the sacrifices of the dead. Thus they provoked Him to anger with their inventions:” Psalm 106:28, 29. Baal was the Canaanite nature God which Elijah challenged on Mt Carmel. It was the false deity of Jezebel who had temple priests who worshiped and served Baal. After Elijah put 450 of them to death Jezebel passed a death decree on him. I Kings 19:1-3.

Notice in this same Psalm 106 that vs. 36, 37 states: “And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Yes, they sacrificed their sons and daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood.” So, we see here that eating sacrifices made unto idols and the dead put them in contact with the spirits of the dead. In Moses’ famous farewell speech to Israel, before he climbed Mt Nebo and died, he stated “They sacrificed unto devils, not to God.” Cf I Kings 10:20, 21. After Solomon died the kingdom was divided between his son Rehoboam and a rebel named Jeroboam, who led Israel into false idol worship. Jeroboam “ordained priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.” 2 Chron 11:15. KJV. The word “devils” appears only in the KJV. The Modern Language V. reads, “goat idols and the calves.” The RSV reads, “And for the satyrs, and for the calves.” The point I am trying to make is that these false idols represented demons. Webster’s defines “Satyr,” as a “woodland deity,” from Greek mythology associated with Bacchus, a god of feasting and sexual pleasure, who had pointed ears, short horns with the head and body of a man and legs of a goat who was fond of riotous merriment and lechery.”

Here again polite English society covers up the real truth of these demon/devil gods of feasting and sexual perversion. “Lechery” is defined as “unrestrained, excessive indulgence of sexual desires; gross sensuality; lewdness.” Very few people know the definition of lechery or lewdness which in essence hides and obscures the gross sexual perversity involved in this passage. The manner in which Satan and his demons successfully manifested themselves in the days of after Solomon is happening again today with even greater power. And it is taking society down to apostasy and ruin. Notice the parallel between ancient Israel and our own country. First of all, there was a division which split the nation of Israel. Ten tribes went with Jeroboam and two went with Rehoboam. Just as Jeroboam took the Ten tribes down to gross perversion through the worship of demon idols even so the majority of the denominations of the USA have accepted the gross immorality of the Gay agenda as well as abortion. But notice what happened to King Rehoboam and the two faithful tribes. “And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.” And so even those who had been faithful fell to idolatry and notice the result. “And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord.” 2 Chron 12:2. Notice that the prophecy of Dan 8:8 predicts the same fate for this country when it reaches the height of its glory and power in the very near future. “Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.” Yes, as has already been noted, “National apostasy will lead to national ruin.” We are very close to that time, my friend. As I complete this commentary, we are halfway through 2007. There is a prophecy that this world age we are in will end in 2012. That does not give us much time to warn the world of the wrath to come, but it is our duty to try. Before the 7th plague of hail falls Christ told John: “Behold, I come as a thief, Blessed is he that watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame. Cf Rev 3:18. Then Rev 16:16 says that “He gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” This will be the time of decision for the people of this earth. And it will take place during the last 3 1/2 years when the Mark of the Beast will be enforced. Jesus has promised His mature church of Philadelphia that they will be kept from this terrible time of testing. Notice: “Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Rev 3:10, 11. In Luke 21:34-36 Jesus gave a warning for our day in regard to the dangers of being caught in the trap of the cares of this life, “so that day come upon you unawares.” The LB says: “Don’t let my sudden coming catch you unawares;… Keep a constant watch. And pray that if possible you may arrive in my presence without having to experience these horrors.” Luke 21:36. Dan 12:1-4 and Malachi 3:16-18 both give a promise of deliverance for those who will be of the Elect, the Wise Elected ones who cannot be deceived, Matt 24:24, when Satan appears as Christ and deceives the whole world. In the book “Great Controversy,” pages 624, 625 the servant of the Lord warned us that before the great and final deception of Satan “Fearful sights of a supernatural character” would be manifested in the skies “in token of the power of miracle working demons. The spirits of devils will go forth to the kings of the earth and the whole world, to fasten them in deception, and urge them on to unite with Satan in his last struggle against the government of heaven. As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour’s advent as the consummation of her hopes. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation. Revelation 1:13-15.” This is when Satan will receive the worship of the entire world except for the final Elect who know who He is, the prince of darkness, and refuse to bow down to him. But everyone else will shout that Christ has come. He will speak to them in soft and subdued tones, full of melody. He will heal the sick along with many other miracles. And then in his assumed character of Christ he will announce to the world that the Sabbath he himself has authorized the change of the true Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. He commands allow observe and worship on that day on pain of death. All who refuse to comply will be called blasphemers worthy of death. This will be the strong and almost overmastering delusion.

The question we must answer today is: “Are we ready for this final test?” And “How can we pass this test? How will we be able to detect the deceiver in His disguise so we will not be among the foolish virgins?” The answer is that the Elect of God will be able to expose this false Messiah by his character, because He will teach that God destroys. So, this is the importance of knowing today the true character of God. Before we go to the 7th plague of hail stones let us notice how earnestly the Lord the Lord pleads with every soul to not worship the beast and his image so they will not receive “his mark in his forehead, or in his hand.” Rev 14:9. The reason for this is to save them from the terrible suffering that is going to come on every person who takes the mark. “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, (when God’s Spirit is withdrawn from all who receive the Mark) which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascends up for every and ever: and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the Mark of his name.” Rev 14:9-11.

Remember how Jesus tried to warn the women of Jerusalem, who were weeping for Him as they saw Him suffering in the Via Dolorosa, as He stumbled and crawled up the path to His cross. Luke 23:27-31. Once again, in our day, the Saviour is pleading with us to avoid the terrible suffering and torture that will come upon this last generation who are about to go through this test of the Mark of the Beast. The importance of this message to not receive the Mark is stressed again in Rev 18:1-4. Notice that John identifies the whore of Rev 17 as “the woman which you saw (Rev 17:1-7) is that great city, (Jerusalem) which reigns over the kings of the earth.” Surely someone will say, “But Pastor Mike, I thought that the great city is Babylon.” And I will answer, yes, it is Babylon, the enemy of God and mankind. So, how does Jerusalem become Babylon? It becomes Babylon when the spirit of Babylon enters in and possesses her. When Medo-Persia took over Babylon it was no longer the Babylonian empire but the empire of Medo-Persia and so on down to Rome and our day. Whoever enters into the gates of the city it conquers names the city after them. Now notice: “The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.” Lam. 4:12. Now let us look at the mighty Fourth Angel of Rev 18 who comes down to earth “having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine (doctrines or teachings and beliefs) of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance (power) of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.” Rev 18:1-4. As the 7th plague is let loose “It is done” is pronounced from the throne in the temple of heaven. Then there is the greatest earthquake of all time which divides the great city into three parts. At the same time all the cities of the nations fall and Babylon receives the fulness of the cup of suffering and all the islands and mountains disappear and vanish because of the terrible shaking and violence of that earthquake.

So, all this happens before the 7th and final plague of hailstones is poured out, vs 21, which will devastate the earth. Rev 16:21. The KJV says the weight is a talent or about 66 lbs. Most translations say a “hundred weight,” which would be 100 lbs. For the third time the majority of mankind are blaspheming (blaming Him) God for the hail stones. For additional reading I would encourage you to read chapters 39 & 40 of the book, “THE GREAT CONTROVERSY BETWEEN CHRIST & SATAN,” which are “The Time of Trouble” and “God’s People Delivered.”

May the Lord bless you as you earnestly pray for the Holy Spirit to be in your heart and life guiding you safely through these perilous last days.
