Commentary On Revelation – Chapter 12

THE EMERGENCE OF THE MAN CHILD IN
OUR DAY: BASED ON REVELATION 12:5

The word Revelation is from the Greek noun Apocalypse meaning a prophecy, disclosure, or remarkable revelation. It is also the title given to the last book of the New Testament written by the Apostle John, during his exile on the Island of Patmos, AD 96. In the very first verse of 22 chapters we read: “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” Rev 1:1. 1722 5034. Almost 30 years ago, some time in the mid 70’s, large ads were placed in major newspapers in the USA and around the world with this headline: “THE CHRIST IS NOW HERE.” Jesus did not appear then or since. But this was a fulfillment of Christ’s warning in Matt 24 and Luke 21 that false messiahs would make all kinds of claims during the final years of this age. And so it has been. My friend, do you realize that the false almost always comes just before the true. The Bible does indeed speak of a Christ or Christos, as it is spelled in the original Greek. “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” Rev 11:15.

This is one of the 24 titles I have found in the Bible referring to this small group of people the Lord is going to use in the end time to stand against all the forces of evil which Rev 3 speaks of as “The Synagogue of Satan.” The Bible also refers to this same group as “The Elect.” Matt 24:24. I sometimes call them the Barley Group, based on the story of Gideon and his faithful band of 300 in Judges 7. The title for our study today is based on Rev 12:5. “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne.” In order to fully understand this verse we need to build a foundation for our study. That is why I quoted Rev 1:1 at the beginning of this paragraph regarding the events John was shown coming to pass in a short period of time.

The traditional interpretation of this introductory verse to John’s visions of the future has been that these prophecies have been coming to pass little by little since Christ returned to heaven, or in other words, during the last 2,000 years. But pure logic tells us that 2,000 years is definitely not a “short” period of time. In fact, John uses this same Greek word “shortly” again, a second time, for emphasis, at the close of his book which is simply “En Tachos,” in the Greek. “And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.” Rev 22:6.

Let us look at the Greek word Tachos which means: “A brief space (of time) i.e. (With 1722 pref.) In haste:-+quickly, +shortly, +speedily.” Strong’s 5034. 5033 and 5035 include “as soon as possible, with all speed, without delay, soon, suddenly, readily.” Although I have shared this with you in a former article it bears repeating as an introduction for today’s study on the coming of the Man Child because the traditional interpretation of Revelation 12:1-5 is that this prophecy has already been fulfilled in the birth of Jesus when history split in two, i.e. into BC (before Christ) and AD (after Christ or Anno Domini, meaning “In the year of our Lord.” But how could that be when the date accepted by almost all scholars is AD 96? If you will take time to read this entire article I think you will agree with me that the Christos of Rev 11:15 and 12:10 is the same as the Man Child of Rev 12:5. Notice: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.”

Although I have shared this with you in a former article it bears repeating as an introduction for today’s study because we are dealing with the same principle. When I wrote my article on Rev 12, I explained the meaning of the birth of the Man Child.

The traditional interpretation of Revelation 12:1-5 is that this prophecy has already been fulfilled in the birth of Jesus when history split in two. But how could that be when the date accepted by almost all scholars for the book or Revelation is AD 96? So, the book of Revelation is not a treatise on history but a book of prophecies of the future. Jesus had already come, lived, died and rose from the grave, returning to heaven about 33 AD. So, the predicted birth of the Man Child could not be referring to Jesus. I have written in depth on this topic which is on my web site at: www.godslastcall.org

If you read this whole article about the Man Child I think you will agree that the Christos of Rev 11:15 and 12:10 is the same as the Man Child of Rev 12:5. Notice: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.” This Man Child is yet to come. When we study Rev 12 we will go into more depth on this topic. But I just wanted to share that with you to help you to see how we need some new understanding about the book of Revelation for the time in which we are living.

Who is this Lord John is speaking about here in Rev 11 and 12? I believe that it is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Why do I say that? Because of the Law of Primacy, also known as the Law of First Use. This means that the first time a word or expression is used in the Bible the meaning or definition assigned to that word or name sets a precedent and will always be the same throughout the Scriptures. This is helpful on other topics as well, such as the subject of speaking in tongues. The first use of tongues in the New Testament is recorded in Acts 2 where at least 19 known languages are mentioned. The point is that the first use of the word tongues in the New Testament defines tongues as known languages, not as “Unknown,” tongues. In fact, the word “unknown” is a supplied word, and not even in the original. Evidently, when the KJV was translated in 1611 the scholars at that time thought that the supplied word “unknown” would help to clarify the meaning of the passage, when in reality all it did was confuse the issue.

The first use of the title “Lord” in the book of Revelation is referring to Jesus, not the Father. In Rev 5 Jesus is referred to as a Lamb. The Father is referred to as “Him that sat upon the throne.” And in verse 10 a hymn of praise is sung in a new song, “Thou hast redeemed us to God by thy blood…” I believe the title “God” here is again referring to the Father and/or the God family as God in the Scriptures is often referred to in the plural as we read in Gen 1:26,”And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:'” Elohim is 1. Plural. 2. Masculine and 3. Feminine.

Having said all that let us now go to Rev 12 and the birth of the man child. “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; and she was with child; and she cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven; and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. And she gave birth to a son, a male child (man child, KJV) who is to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.” Rev 12:1-6. NAS.

Before we begin an interpretation of the verses above I think it not only most appropriate but very important that we understand the purpose and plan our God has envisioned for the book of Revelation in our lives. “The book is a revelation of Jesus Christ at work perfecting a people on earth so that they may reflect His flawless character, and guiding His church through the vicissitudes of history toward the accomplishment of His eternal purpose. Here more completely than elsewhere in Holy Writ the curtain that separates the invisible from the visible is drawn aside in order to reveal, ‘behind, above, and through all the play and counter play of human interests and power and passions, the agencies of the all-merciful One, silently, patiently working out the counsels of His own will.” (Ed 173). 7BC 724. (Emphasis mine). This statement from the SDA Bible Commentary clearly shows they believed that it is God’s plan to develop and perfect His own character in the lives of those He plans to translate at His coming in the clouds of glory.

“Under the symbols of a great red dragon, a leopard like beast, and a beast with lamblike horns, the earthly governments which would especially engage in trampling upon God’s law and persecuting His people, were presented to John. The war is carried on till the close of time. The people of God, symbolized by a holy woman and her children, were represented as greatly in the minority. In the last days only a Remnant still existed. Of these John speaks as they ‘which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (ST Nov. 1, 1899).

The servant of the Lord has also told us that the prophecies of the book of Revelation will be understood more and more as the scroll is unrolled, which means that as time marches on and current events becomes the contemporary history of our day, we will be able to more clearly see, understand and interpret the meaning of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation.

As I came to the first six verses of Rev 12, I realized that I was going to have to explain some things that have never been explained before by any expositor of the book of Revelation. At least I have never read any explanation of what the Lord is impressing me to write on this now. I had to stop and re-read the verses carefully several times. The first thing the Lord brought to my attention was that in Rev 12 the dragon has seven heads and ten horns with the crowns upon the heads. But in Rev 13 the same dragon with the same seven heads and ten horns has the crowns upon the horns. And in Dan 7 this same terrible beast like animal has ten horns with no crowns. But Daniel saw three of the horns replaced by a “Little Horn,” Dan 7:8, which was actually a head with eyes and a mouth like that of a man “speaking great things.” Most Protestant Reformation theologians have interpreted this Little Horn to be the Papacy. Notice that in Rev 12:1 that the beast that rose up out of the sea had “upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” This identifies these heads of the nations as religious in nature.

Then in Dan 8 we read about the rough he goat who came from the west and attacked the Ram, breaking both of his horns. vs 6, 7. From previous studies we have learned that this he goat represents the nations from the west, primarily the USA and that the two horns represent the modern nations of Iraq and Iran which were anciently named Media and Persia. The first horn is being broken as we speak and Iran will be next. It is just a matter of time. So, prophecy is coming to pass before our very eyes, which is the unrolling of the scroll.

Another important point we need to understand in this study is that the he goat has a notable or big horn between his eyes. “And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.” It is now 7:55 a.m., PST, as I am typing these words here on my computer in Oregon, March 4th, 2005. Last night, about 10:00 p.m. the Lord impressed me to kneel down and pray for wisdom before I continued writing on this topic. And so I did and when I finished praying and had resumed my writing and research the Lord told me to read Dan 8:5 again. “And as I (Daniel) was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.” As soon as I finished read those descriptive words, “Notable horn between his eyes,” the Lord spoke to me and said, “That is like a unicorn.” Now, that was a brand new thought which had never occurred to me before. Then the same voice told me to look up the word in the dictionary and here is what I found. “Unicorn, n. (ME. & Ofr. unicorne < L. 1. a mythical horselike animal having a single horn growing from the center of its forehead. 2. in the Bible, a two-horned, ox-like animal called reh-ame in Hebrew: Deut. 33:17.” Strong’s 7214. We know that a goat has two horns, not one.

So, why did Daniel describe this animal as a “rough goat?” when it only has one horn? It may be that was what it looked like to him and was the best he could do. In another dictionary Unicorn is defined as “An animal with one horn; a fabulous animal having the head, neck, and body of a horse, the legs of a deer, the tail of a lion, and a long horn growing out of the forehead.–Sea unicorn, the narwal or narwhal.” I was surprised that this “Webster’s New World Dictionary,” (1956) actually had a reference to the Bible for the Unicorn. So, I opened my KJV Bible and here is what I read: “His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.” The Hebrew word translated “unicorn” is rem (rame) Strong’s 7214. “A wild bull (from its conspicuousness):-unicorn.” And then in the “New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures,” in the footnote for Deut 33:17 “As the firstborn of a bull” it says, “Or, ‘a buffalo.” In Uriah Smith’s famous “Daniel and the Revelation,” there is an artist’s drawing of a buffalo standing on a map of the USA with the caption below, “THE BEAST WITH LAMBLIKE HORNS,” and then below that Rev 13:11 is quoted: “I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” The horns of the buffalo are very small. If you read Deut 33:13-17 you will discover that those four verses preceding v 17 describe the two sons of Joseph, i.e., Ephraim and Manasseh as we just quoted above. Notice that Ephraim is ten times as great as his older brother, just as Jacob predicted in Gen 48:17-19: “His younger brother (Ephraim) shall be greater than he, (Manasseh) and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.” When you study out the history of these two tribes from about 700 BC you will discover that there is an abundance of evidence that the descendants of Ephraim migrated and settled in the USA and Manasseh in the British Isles. More on that later. I have a 110 page book which explains this in great detail. It is entitled: “THE UNITED STATES and the BRITISH EMPIRE FORETOLD in the Bible.” Only $9.95 post paid to you.

Now, we need to look at the “great red dragon” of Rev 12:3 and beast #1 of Rev 13:1 as well as the terrible beast Daniel describes in Dan 7:7. “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Notice first of all that this dragon of Rev 12 has seven crowns upon his heads whereas the first beast of Rev 13 has ten crowns upon his horns. Why the difference? And why is it that the “fourth beast, dreadful and terrible,” of Dan 7:7 has no crowns at all upon its horns? Before we try to analyze and answer this question we need to realize that chapter 12 of Rev, as well as Rev 11, continues the prophetic future of God’s true church in deadly conflict with the powers of Satanic darkness and evil, in this last age of earth’s history, just before Christ returns to begin the harvest of the Barley, Wheat and Grape, in that order which will take place in 3 ½ years. As that time draws near we need to realize how serious this battle is and what part the Lord wants us to play in it.

First of all, an animal or beast in prophecy represents a king or kingdom. “These great beasts…are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.” Dan 7:17. The horns also represent kingdoms. “And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise.” v 24. You can read through Dan 2 and 7 yourself for further understanding. The number ten and seven in Dan 7 and Rev 12 and 13 are round numbers denoting completeness. The number ten in Scripture is used to signify “all.” For example, The Ten Commandments are ten laws which cover all areas of human conduct in regard to our relationship with God and man. The Ten Virgins represent all of the professed Christians in the world who are looking and waiting expectantly for the coming of Jesus, our heavenly bridegroom. Notice that these horns in Dan 7 do not have any crowns upon them but the heads and horns of Rev 12 and 13 do. To answer this let us first define the word crown. It is from the Greek word diademata, which means, “something bound around”from diadeo meaning “to bind around.” This word was used to describe the badge of kingship worn by Persian kings, a blue ribbon trimmed with white, worn on the turban. So, the word came to be used as a badge of royalty, kingship and authority. Webster’s dictionary defines the word crown as: “Emblem of sovereignty, position, power or dominion.” The word Diademata occurs only here and in chapters 13:1 and 19:12. These kings and rulers, in their respective kingdoms, during this last age have “authority.” But since they are fighting and warring against the King of heaven and His servants, who gives them their authority? The answer is found in Rev 13:1, 2 where the first beast that rises up “out of the sea” is described as being like a leopard whose feet are like a bear but who has the mouth of a lion. A leopard is fast and cunning in hunting prey and a bear’s feet are very strong and a lion can roar to frighten its victims. Furthermore, these are the characteristics of the three animals of Dan 7 which represented Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece. So, in this composite beast of Rev 13 we can see the cultures of Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece which merged to shape and form the Roman empire from 168 BC to 476 AD. And the same is true again today as we see the multi-faceted cultures of the world being merged into one New World Order in this last age. But from what source do these kings derive their power and authority to make war against the kingdom of God (His people or church) and His servants?

Notice: “And the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” Rev 13:2. And who is the dragon? “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world:” Rev 12:9. Beloved, it is very important to understand that there are only two authorities in this world. The first and only true authority is God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The second is the usurper and deceiver, Satan, who has been successful in “deceiving the whole world.” v 9. Only the Elect will escape his final deceptions which even now are going forth like a net to ensnare our planet. “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare (net or trap) shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:34-36.

Satan’s deceptions in this last hour will increase in their intensity, frequency and power to deceive as Jesus predicted:”For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matt 24:24. And v 21, 22 state that the days of the tribulation are going to be so terrible that if they are not shortened “no flesh would be saved.”

A chart is now available to you detailing these last days which will be two periods of 3 ½ years. It is free upon request when you write to: God’s Last Call Ministries P O Box 473 Woodburn, OR 97071.

The book of Daniel is supernaturally organized because the God of heaven through His Holy Spirit gave these prophecies 600 years before Christ was born. But the feet and toes of that image in Dan 2 carries us down to our present hour. In the image of Dan 2 we see the successive kingdoms of history beginning with Babylon down to the Roman empire. The ten toes symbolize the same division of Rome as the ten horns of Dan 7. And remember that those ten horns of Dan 7:7 did not have any crowns, which I believe indicate that up until our day, they did not have the kind of power and authority God is going to allow them to have during this last seven year period.

We know that through the centuries the leaders of the world have tried to unite all the nations of earth into a One World Order. The latest effort has been the United Nations which has not succeeded. The image of Dan 2 predicted that the final kingdom of this world would be a conglomeration of ten divisions, ten meaning all the nations of the earth. “And as you saw the feet and toes partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but some of the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with miry clay.” Dan 2:41.

“And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” Rev 17:12. Now, my friend, let us look more closely at this word “hour.” I believe that the best explanation of this word is found in the Bible Commentary: Note: “Obviously, the meaning of ‘hora’ in any particular instance must be determined by the context. Some have taken the ‘one hour’ of ch 17:12 as prophetic time, according to which it would represent a period of about two weeks of literal time. However, the context seems to imply otherwise. It is generally recognized that ch. 18 gives a more detailed explanation of events described in ch. 17:12-17. But the period of time designated as ‘one day’ in ch. 18:8 is also called ‘one hour’ in vs. 10, 17, 19, the obvious intent of Inspiration being to indicate a brief period of time without specifying its exact length. Accordingly, it seems preferable to take the expression ‘one hour’ in ch. 17:12 in the same sense, as indicating a brief but unspecified period of time. Periods of time mentioned in prophetic passages of Scripture do not always designate what is commonly known as prophetic time. For instance, the 7 years of famine predicted by Joseph were literal years (Gen. 41:25-31), as is also true of the 40 years of wondering foretold in Num. 14:34. The same might be said of the 400 years of Gen. 15:13, the 70 years of Jer. 25:12, 29:10, and the 1,000 years of Rev 20:4. The brief ‘hour’ of ch. 17:12 witnesses the climax of satanic planning for the unification of the world through a compact between the apostate religious organizations of earth, as represented by the woman, and the political powers of earth, as represented by the beast (see on chs. 16:13, 14; 17:3). It was apparently during this brief ‘hour’ that John saw the ‘woman’ seated upon the ‘beast,’ at the apex of her career, and ‘drunken’ with the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Jesus (vs.3-6).” 7 BC 856, 857.

Now, let us look at this word Mind in vs 13. “These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of Kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Rev 17:13, 14.

“Mind. Gr. gnome, ‘opinion,’ ‘intention,’ purpose,’ ‘resolve,’ ‘decree.’ In v. 17 gnome is translated ‘will.” The ‘mind’ of the nations of earth is diametrically opposed to that of God. The nations of earth, represented by the ten horns, here purpose to unite with the ‘beast’ (see on v. 3) in forcing the inhabitants of earth to drink the ‘wine’ of Babylon (see on v. 2), that is, to unite the world under her control and to obliterate all who refuse to cooperate (see on v. 14). See EW 34, 36, 282; GC 615; 624, 626; PK 512, 587; 5T 213. Compare on Rev. 16:12-16.”

As in all of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, as in life itself, there is always a progression of information and truth which we refer to as “progressive revelation.” Not only do we see this in the lives of the Patriarchs & Prophets, such as Jeremiah and Daniel himself but we see it in the life of King David. In the New Testament we see it in the lives of the disciples and later in the life of Saul of Tarsus, who became the Apostle Paul. But we see it most clearly in the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation which is revealing more light than ever before as the scroll is unrolled, on a “need to know basis.” And if we ever needed to know it is today, beloved.

As we have already noted the horns in Dan 7 did not have any crowns but there is one important verse that is a vital key to understanding Rev 12 and 13. “It (the 4th beast) was different from all the animals that were before it. It had ten horns. These horns I studied, and while I was contemplating them attentively, behold, up rose another horn, a little one and a marvel, by which three of the ten horns were uprooted. This little horn had the eyes of a man and a mouth ever boasting of great deeds and uttering proud words.” Dan 7:7, 8. Then in vs 21 Daniel tells us that he saw this “Little Horn” make war with the saints and overcame them. We know this took place during the dark ages from about 538 AD to 1798 AD. But it is going to happen again on a world wide scale during the second or last 3 ½ years of this earth’s history.

These ten horns do not have any crowns on them as the ten horns in Rev 13 do. This may indicate that the persecution of God’s people in the past was not done under the jurisdiction of a united world government authority, such as the United Nations. In other words, the persecution in our day, in the coming last 3 ½ year reign of terror will be fully authorized by the New World Order, under the jurisdiction of a world court, which will pass a death decree against all who refuse to submit to its authority. During the dark ages some of the kings, rulers and magistrates were sympathetic to the reformation. For example, the Protestant Princes stood up against the Pope as did Henry the VIII in England. And at least two of the Popes were put to death (poisoned) by the Jesuits because they suppressed the Jesuit order. Pope Clement XIII and Pope Clement XIV who signed the order of suppression in 1773. I have 14 pages of historical documentation on this subject which you can order for only $2.95 to cover the cost of copying and postage.

So, even though there was oppression and persecution there was not total unity among the governing heads of church and state. It truly was a mixture of iron and clay which we know does not bond well. But in our day, during this coming 3 ½ year period there will be total unity among the enemies of God, at least for a short period of time. Having said that let us try to understand why the crowns are on the heads of the ten horned dragon in Rev 12 but on the ten horns of the first beast of Rev. 13. Most of the reformation preachers and teachers believed that the little horn of Dan 7, which uproots three of the ten horns, represented the rise of the Roman Catholic Church to prominence and power from about 538 AD on to 1798 AD. Those three nations were the Heruli, the Vandals and the Ostrogoths. History reveals these three nations were destroyed by the Vatican because they refused to submit to its authority. So, we see that the one head in Dan 7 which uprooted three of the horns had “the eyes of a man and a mouth ever boasting of great deeds and uttering proud words.” Dan 7:8.

Now, when we come to Rev 13 we see that John the Revelator was shown this same beast power, in its final form, the same as Daniel was shown, only now it has progressed in its power and authority to the extent that through it “All the world wondered after the beast.” “And they worshiped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Rev 13:4, 5. But he even goes further in his boasting by committing blasphemy. “And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.” V. 6. This is significant because the definition of blasphemy is claiming to be God which is what the Roman Catholic Church claims to be through the Pope in Rome as well as through their priests who offer the sacraments. Many reformation preachers and teachers were burned at the stake for teaching this. So, now this will help us to understand why the crowns in Rev 13 are on the horns and not on the heads of this composite beast power. Remember when Jesus was brought before Pilate the Jewish priests gave or transferred their authority to Rome via Pilate in order to crucify Jesus when they said, “We have no king but Caesar.” John 19:15. By doing this they were transferring the kingly badge of power, dominion and authority, i.e. the crown, from themselves to Rome which they had never before acknowledged as having any authority over them because they believed only Jehovah to be their God and king. This was nothing less than the Union of Church and state which then forced Pilate’s hand to condemn Christ, having Him scourged two times and then handed Him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.

And so it is in this last hour of earth’s history that the religious elements of society will transfer their religious crown of authority to the civil powers of the NWO who will pass a world Sunday law death decree against all who refuse to bow and pay them homage. An inspired pen, dipped in the ink of heaven, wrote the following: “When He (Jesus) leaves the sanctuary, darkness covers the inhabitants of the earth. In that fearful time the righteous must live in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. The restraint which has been upon the wicked is removed, and Satan has entire control of the finally impenitent.” Great Controversy, 614.

At this crisis hour the God of heaven will execute His plan that He has purposed since the foundation of the world, to bring “many sons to glory (Heb 2:10) which Paul also reveals in his epistle to the Romans. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Rom 8:18, 19.

So, who are these “Sons of God” the Lord is going to reveal to the world at a specific point in time…at the Crisis Hour of earth’s History? Daniel speaks of them as saints. “But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.” Dan 7:18, 27. This is actually a repeat of verses 13 and 14 in which Daniel was shown these same “Sons of God,” presented to the Father Himself before His throne in heaven.”I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to (near to) the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.” Dan 7:13, 14. NAS. (New American Standard Version).

The 19th century interpretation of these passages, after the Great Disappointment, was that this is Jesus coming before the Father to receive the kingdom. But Jesus had already appeared before the Father after His resurrection and ascension to heaven on the first day of the week. This happened in AD 33. Daniel is seeing events which will transpire at the end of this age. Please notice again, that Dan 7:18 and 27 are passages which parallel vs 13 and 14 which make it crystal clear that the “One like the Son of man,” is not Christ but a group of saints spoken of and referred to as one unit, just as the “Elect” is understood to be a group of people and not just one person. Hosea 11:1 is another example of how the Hebrew writers used one person to represent a group, in this case a child and son representing all of Israel. “When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.”

In Rev 11:1-15 we read first about “Two Witnesses” who are going to prophesy for 1260 days clothed in sackcloth which means they are not going to be preaching a message people like or agree with. In other words, they are not going to win any popularity contests because it says in verse 7 that after they have “finished their testimony” the beast power from the bottomless pit is going to make war against them and “kill them.” But vs 11 predicts that they will be raised from the dead after 3 ½ days, the same as Jesus was. I have explained in former articles on Rev 11 that the Greek word indicates this is not a literal death but symbolical. Their “microphone” (voice) is turned off. In other words they are silenced. “And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” Rev. 11:8. I believe this is referring to the media continuing to play, over and over again, sound bites and news excerpts of these people whose character they have just slandered. They will not let the subject drop or be finished. They want to gloat and celebrate their victory, no doubt like the Pharisees and Scribes did after Jesus was crucified on Friday. So, there is just no closure on this issue. And the Bible expresses it symbolically as if their “dead bodies” were lying out in the streets of Jerusalem (where Jesus was crucified) rotting with no decent burial. Jerusalem will be the center of the NWO. God’s brave soldiers are not literally lying out in the streets. They will no doubt be arrested and put in jails around the globe at certain locations. Some may just be hiding out.

Meanwhile the wicked are rejoicing and “dancing on the graves,” as it were, of these brave, modern Elijahs, perhaps like Jezebel celebrated when she learned that her death threat caused Elijah to flee for his life. Vs. 10 says that these wicked, modern Jezebels and Ahabs “send gifts one to another” rejoicing that their “torment” is over, just like Herod’s conscience was tormented because John the Baptist rebuked his illegitimate marriage to his brother Phillip’s wife, Herodias, Mark 6:19. So, she had John the Baptist killed to relieve her tormented conscience. Nothing causes torment like a guilty conscience when truth and righteousness are constantly presented before the willful sinner. It just becomes intolerable to him or her. But after their successful character assassination they believe they have finally got rid of these “trouble makers” and like Herod and Herodias, the wicked of the earth, who run the NWO, are relieved from the torment of the convicting testimony of these Two Witnesses. The wicked then, like Beltshazzer of old in Daniel 5, drink themselves drunk out of their minds to quiet their consciences by losing themselves in celebration and merriment. But it doesn’t last for long. Only three and a half days. Notice now how God suddenly and supernaturally enters the picture and reverses the course of events.

“And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered in to them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.” Rev. 11:11. These are three actual days or 72 hours. So, the wicked are going to actually see this happen as well as hear the Voice of God which will deliver the saints (Barley Company). “And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.” vs. 12. This is the special translation of the Barley Company which takes place at the same time as the special resurrection of Dan. 12:1. Next, there is a great earth quake which kills 7,000 men (perhaps the enemies of the Barley Group) causing the rest to give glory to God, probably out of fear and also because they were rooting, backing and cheering for the Barley Group to win all along and are happy God is taking over to make sure the righteous finally win at long last.

And this is when the “Man Child” of Rev 12:5 will take the field. This is only one of 24 designations or titles for God’s High Command Army. They will be translated at the close of the first 3 ½ years. “The Armies of God Take the Field. We need to study the pouring out of the seventh vial. The powers of evil will not yield up the conflict without a struggle. But Providence has a part to act in the battle of Armageddon. When the earth is lighted with the glory of the angel of Revelation eighteen, the religious elements, good and evil, will awake from slumber, and the armies of the living God will take the field.” (MS 175, 1899). BC 983. This army is also designated with 24 titles from the Scriptures as already noted.
